If for any reason you need hand therapy, your internet research ends here! I recently had surgery on my thumb, that was a bigger deal than I expected. The orthopedic practice where I had the surgery has their in-house a hand physical therapy department but they are over 45 minutes away. They did provide an initial post-op evaluation and told me how important it was to find a certified hand therapist. Almost every physical therapy center will treat your hand, but hardly any have a certified hand specialist on staff. From my first phone call to Amy, she was able to tell me what I could expect in terms of the pace at which I would regain motion and strength. When we started with therapy, my hand was practically useless. No grip strength, could hardly move my thumb, numbness was never ending. Happily, it healed just was she said it would. I was 9 weeks post surgery when we concluded, and my function is at about 90%. I have every confidence it will fully recover.In addition to being adept at her job as a therapist, Amy is smart. She was able to explain, in as much detail as I needed, how my hand would recover, and why it felt like it did. That’s important since you can easily get discouraged when you feel things aren’t progressing as quickly as you think they should.Thanks Amy, for being good at what you do and for your professionalism. Amazing care and service, helped with rehab of my wrist, from getting me out of my cast, to getting strength and mobility back.

I was sent to Amy by Dr Julka after surgery on my thumb. She worked with me on rebuilding strength and range of motion. Amy gave me exercises to do, did some massage, did fine motor activities and others to work on my strength and to regain full use of my hand and thumb. I am very impressed with her knowledge and her caring disposition. I would recommend her to anyone needing therapy on your hand. Wonderful experience!!!!!!
